How to Add Lyrics to Your Instagram Story
If you’ve noticed over the past six months that your Instagram Stories feed looks a little more like personalized karaoke videos, it’s because Gram added a feature last year that lets you add lyrics to your stories. This add-on allows you not only to add music to your story (you may have been doing this for a while), but also to see those texts over an image or video, similar to what you could do with the TikTok app. …
To add text to your Instagram story, launch the app and then select the camera icon at the top of the screen, as if you were adding something else to the story. Then add or take a photo or video that you want to include in your story.
From there, scroll to “music” in the bottom menu, then select a song and drag the music bar to the part of the song that you want to play as part of your story.
Above the song, you will see a Text button. You can customize the display of lyrics. Here are a few variations I made over a photo of my new friend, The Donkey.
Lyrics react in real time with a slider, so if you select a different part of the song, the corresponding lyrics will automatically be displayed as well. We should also point out that not every song available in the Instagram music library has this feature (but many do).
This is a very simple trick that can be a fun way to add some flair to your Instagram Stories.
