How to Install ICloud As Progressive Web App on Android
Apple has redesigned the mobile version of iCloud, and if you live in a divided home – Android and iOS / iPadOS devices live in perfect harmony – you should check out the new website, especially if you are using an Android smartphone or tablet. In fact, you can even install it on your device as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for easier access.
While the iCloud PWA isn’t quite as good as the iCloud settings built directly into your device, a la iPhone, it’s a good step between this version and the web version. You can even add a small app icon to your home screen so it can be pulled out faster.
Apple’s changes to iCloud may have made it more mobile-friendly, but you still get a limited experience compared to what you’d find in iCloud in a desktop browser. The PWA, for example, will only include the Photos, Notes, Reminders, and Find My iPhone apps and your account settings, although Android Police says the Notes app doesn’t always work as expected. It’s still better than nothing, and hopefully it’s only a matter of time before the full suite of iCloud services becomes available on Android.
