Update IOS to Block More Location Tracking on IPhone 11

iOS 13.3.1 and iPadOS 13.3.1 were released yesterday, adding some handy features and fixing a number of bugs (which we have listed below). IPhone and iPad owners can start the update by going to Settings> General> Software Update on their devices, although users who have turned on automatic updates are likely to have the newer versions already installed.

There isn’t much of a difference in terms of bug fixes between the two updates, a notable exception is the new iOS location switcher, which gives users more control over how their iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Max use location services for ultra-wideband service. … A new toggle was added after it was discovered that the iPhone’s U1 chip continues to transmit location information to the user even with normal location settings disabled. You’ll find it under Settings> Privacy> Location Services.

In addition, both iOS and iPadOS 13.3.1 add a Play Again button in the TV app so you can re-watch content, as well as Siri voice support in Indian English for HomePod. The patch also fixes the following bugs found in earlier iOS / iPadOS 13 updates:

  • The ability for your smart kids to bypass communication restrictions and add contacts without entering a screen time password. (iOS / iPad OS)
  • Lag when taking Deep Fusion photos on an “iPhone 11” or iPhone 11 Pro (iOS)
  • Deleted images will no longer appear if Download Deleted Images is disabled (iOS / iPad OS).
  • Show multiple undo dialogs in Mail app (iOS / iPad OS)
  • FaceTime using the ultra wide-angle camera on the back instead of the wide-angle camera (iOS)
  • Push notifications are not sent over Wi-Fi (iOS / iPad OS)
  • Distorted sound during phone calls via CarPlay (iOS)
