If one of your goals for 2020 is to develop more productive habits and increase your own happiness in life, Yale can help you with that.
Yale offers the Science of Wellbeing online course on Coursea for anyone with an internet connection.
The course officially starts today and will last ten weeks. Each week you need to complete approximately 2 hours of coursework, usually a mixture of reading and video. For example, this week there are 4 videos of 14 minutes and 8 different readings. Next week there will be 7 videos with a total duration of 63 minutes, 3 readings and a quiz.
Here is the official course description:
“In this course, you will complete a series of tasks designed to increase your own happiness and develop more productive habits. In preparation for these challenges, Professor Laurie Santos uncovers misconceptions about happiness, annoying mental traits that make us think the way we do, and research that can help us change. Ultimately, you will be ready to successfully incorporate specific health activities into your life. ”
Everything is done at your own pace, so you can work forward if you want, or play catch-up if you end up falling behind. It is estimated that all this will take about 20 hours.
Although the course is free, if you want to get a certificate of completion, you will need to pay $ 50. This certification can be shared in the Certificates section of your LinkedIn profile, or mentioned on your resume, cover letter, or wherever you think it might apply. Of course, you can mention taking the course even if you don’t pay that $ 50.
