How to Raise Children As a Starfleet Officer
Sometimes, when your toddler gets hysterical about asking for a banana and then you give him a banana, it may occur to you: Who or what is this irrational creature sitting in front of me? It’s like I’m dealing with an alien life form that cannot adapt to a new environment. That’s when it’s time to deploy your inner Starfleet officer.
Of course, you could use old-fashioned patience. It’s always a good choice. But on days when patience has run out, you have another option. Lyman Kessler , who I can only assume is a TNG fanatic, explains on Facebook:
Our babies, toddlers, young children, teens and teenagers? All of them are alien ambassadors from another solar system who, although highly intelligent, are simply not used to the strange ways of our planet.
It is your job as a Starfleet representative to ensure their safety as they acclimate to Earth. Better yet, when they begin to explore our paths, you can give them special roles to build their self-confidence and facilitate their progress. For example, the person responsible for the radish:
