How to Find Discounted Items in an Open Box on Amazon
If you’re willing to buy something that’s already open, you could potentially save a ton of money the next time you shop on Amazon, assuming shopping on Amazon is still what you’re doing this holiday season.
Amazon actually has a section called ” Amazon Warehouse Sales ” dedicated to selling items in open boxes. You know, things that someone bought and then decided to return to the seller, but after they were opened.
In most cases, these are items that have not been used at all or have been minimally used, but the fact that the original packaging is open significantly reduces the price. This is something that has been around for a while but hasn’t been heavily advertised. CNET has paid little attention to this feature this week .
The easiest way to find warehouse offers is to go to the dedicated Amazon Warehouse page . From there, you can search for anything you are trying to buy and see if it is available as a stock quote.
If you just want to see what’s out there, you can also click on individual product groups on this landing page for an overview. For example, Amazon offers quick links to categories such as grills, digital cameras, video games, furniture, and computers.
You can also find Amazon Warehouse offers through traditional site searches. In this case, you can see if the deal is in stock by looking at the “Used & New” line at the bottom of the item price. If you see the Prime logo next to that line, it means Amazon has one discounted space in stock.
As with many Open Box items, discounts vary quite a bit depending on the price of the item and how open the box is (for example, you may not have the original packaging at all, or you may not have a cable).
On a quick search, I found an 11-inch iPad Pro that has access to the Amazon Warehouse. The new device is priced at $ 799.99, but there is another used one available at Prime Warehouse for $ 735.99.
If you follow the link, the site will notice that the $ 64 savings are due to a lack of guidance. Although the iPad will ship in its original packaging, it will also be damaged.
If this is a gift to you, it may not interfere with the transaction. If it’s for someone else, you might want to spend an extra $ 64.
It’s obviously something you’re not going to use for most gifts, but if you’re shopping for something for yourself this holiday season or later, it could be a decent place to look for a potential deal.
