All Major Grocery Chains Open on Thanksgiving
You’ve almost finished making your Thanksgiving dinner when you realize you forgot to buy oil or you’ll run out of wine much faster than expected. Or maybe you don’t attend the Thanksgiving celebration at all, but haven’t thought about it all until now.
Fortunately for situations like this, several national grocery chains are open today to help you pick up your last item or the entire Thanksgiving holiday.
Aldi, BJs, Costco, Publix, Sam’s Club and Trader Joe’s have decided to close today, so you’re out of luck if you want to go to one of them.
These networks are open, although some of them have limited uptime:
- Acme
- Albertson
- Food lion
- Fresh market (7:00 – 16:00)
- Kroger
- Meyer
- Safeway (6 a.m. to midnight)
- Stop & Shop
- Wegmans
- Whole Foods Market
- Winn Dixie (7:00 am – 10:00 pm)
If you want to take advantage of one of these chances, you can shop.
However, your local store may have decided to move out of the corporate pattern, so you can also call before moving in to make sure they are open and not open for less time.
Your favorite local independent grocery store may also be open. When in doubt, you should always call.
