Stay in Control by Checking in With Maesure

Maesure is a tiny free web time tracker. Every ten minutes Mesur asks what you have been doing, and you tell it. It is a simple alternative to complex time tracking systems such as RescueTime . But I like it as a way to focus on the moment.

Unlike more fully featured time trackers, Maesure does not track which apps and sites you have open. The only thing he has is to display pop-up notifications in the browser from time to time asking what you are doing. But sometimes I find that this is all I need to stay on track. Light tap on the shoulder of the screen.

You can adjust the time between check-ins. If your answer is the same as the previous one, you can simply click “yes” in the notification.

All you have to do is be honest when Maesure asks what you are doing. If Maesure notices that you are distracted, admit it and return to the task at hand. If you are doing something “unproductive” that is satisfying or relaxing, you don’t need to be guilty — just honest. Maesure calculates how much time you’ve spent on various tasks so you can see if you’re spending too much time chatting, browsing YouTube, or tweaking fonts.

If you create an account, you can track the days passed and check from different devices. You can also sort tasks by folders.

Other than that, there is nothing unusual. No charts, no analysis. Your time counter cannot distract you. Or you can turn it off by closing the tab. On Windows, you can install Maesure as an application .
