Do Your Global Interview As You Land on an International Flight at These Airports

Global Entry is one of the best investments I’ve ever made. I leave the country quite often, and this not only cuts down a ton of time when I enter the country (sometimes I’m an hour and a half faster than my fellow travelers who don’t). there is) but a ton when I leave, also thanks to the included TSA Pre.

Before I could get it; however, I had to overcome one major obstacle: a personal interview.

Even though Global Entry has been around for quite some time, depending on where you live, you might have to wait quite a long time to get a personal interview after you’ve been pre-approved. The fact that the first scheduled interview will last no earlier than four months does not necessarily mean that you will not be able to use this service when traveling next week.

At a number of US airports, it has become possible to conduct a face-to-face interview after landing. When you land at a participating airport, you will go through customs as if you were already fully approved and then conduct a personal interview in line at customs. This can speed up your interview by several months and allow you to use the service right away.

TSA began conducting customs interviews at several airports last year, but has since expanded the list to a fairly solid number. Check out the full (massive) list here .

And if you are not traveling through any of these airports, consider trying to simply get interviewed at your local Global Entry interview site. I did it for myself and the whole process from arrival to departure took less than 10 minutes.
