Prevent Twitter From Randomly Updating Your Feed
If your Twitter feed keeps scrolling and jumping for no reason, here’s how to fix it. Professional communications agent Evan Sutton points to the answer in the Twitter settings menu. This works on both mobile and desktop computers.
- Tap your avatar in the upper right corner (on the mobile app) or click More on the left panel (on the website).
- Click Options & Privacy .
- Click Availability .
- Turn on Reduce Motion .
This should, but not always , stop Twitter from automatically scrolling through your feed. This did not prevent my feed from automatically updating when I was at the top of the page. And judging by the tweets from users, the fix might even cause some other errors.
To avoid this altogether, use the third-party Twitter Tweetbot app for iOS and Mac, and Owly or Fenix 2 for Android.
