Make Sure You Haven’t Downloaded Any of These 17 Malicious IOS Apps
Researchers found 17 malware-infected apps in the Apple App Store. Although Apple has since removed the malicious apps from the store, if you have an iPhone or iPad, you should make sure not to download one prior to this removal.
The list includes the following applications:
- Vehicle information RTO
- EMI Calculator & Loan Planner
- File Manager – Documents
- Smart GPS Speedometer
- CrickOne – Cricket Results
- Daily Fitness – Yoga Poses
- FM Radio PRO – Internet Radio
- Information about my train – IRCTC and PNR

- Restaurant search – food search
- BMT PRO Calculator – BMR Calc

All of these apps were reportedly removed from the store “due to the fact that they have a code that allows you to artificially follow links on ads,” according to Threatpost . Basically, the app clicks on ads without the involvement of the device owner. This is a violation of Apple policies.
All applications have normal functionality and will appear to the average user to work as expected.
Apple doesn’t provide specific download numbers, but those same apps have over 1 million downloads on Android, suggesting they might have similar followers on iOS. Android apps have been tested by researchers and are free of malware.
All 17 apps were published by a single developer, AppAspect Technologies Pvt. Ltd
