Find Out If Your OLED TV Has Burned Out With This Tool
If you have an OLED TV at home, it might burn out. Burn-in occurs when the same image is displayed on your TV screen for an extended period of time. This could be something like the Apple TV menu or the default screen when you turn on the TV.
Samsung released a video this week to help you learn what burn-in looks like and how to find it on your display.
It’s worth noting that Samsung doesn’t sell OLED TVs, which could be the reason the company chose this tool.
To use it, you just need to stream the one minute YouTube video shown below to your TV.
In the video, it will show you what to look out for, and the 10-second red screen in the video should make the nasty parts on your own TV a little more visible.
If you have burnout, the only way to fix the problem is to buy a new TV. The good news is, chances are good that if you have a severe burn, you’ve probably seen it before.
However, it can be a great way to see where burnout started so you can change your habits before they get so bad that problems arise.
