This Scottish Cocktail Is Apple Season in the Glass
We live in the midst of the apple season , and I really like it. Aside from a meal of only sliced apples (and very good cheese), I add autumn fruits to salads, desserts, and cocktails.
My favorite apple cocktail is a combination of sweet sparkling cider with smoky whiskey and complex herbal benedictine . It looks like a dry, drinkable piece of apple pie if you get drunk fast enough from the pie. It’s also super easy to prepare and can even be built into a glass if you remember to chill everything beforehand. To make this orchard-friendly cocktail you will need:
- 2 ounce whiskey
- 1/2 ounce benedictine
- 3 oz Martinelli Sparkling Cider
If you haven’t chilled the ingredients in time, pour the scotch and liqueur into the ice mixing glass and stir until cold. Fill your compartment glass, top with cider and sip while walking through the apple orchard or something equally delicious and seasonal. (You can wear a cozy scarf to create a mood even inside!)
