What’s Your Favorite News Aggregator or RSS Reader?

How do you find and read news? Most people seem to rely on their Facebook or Twitter feeds to find out the latest headlines, but I am skeptical about this method. Not only do you have to contend with fake news and questionable ads masquerading as headlines , but there is also an abundance of research showing that too much time on social media is physically and mentally harmful to us.

One of the best tools for limiting my social media use was switching to a news aggregator instead of flipping through my social media feed to see what was going on. But even if you’re not interested in cutting down on your social media consumption, news aggregator apps are a useful way to consolidate the various pieces of online content you consume every day into one place. Most of these apps include handy tools that allow you to organize your subscriptions, save articles for later reading, help you find new content based on keywords or topics, and even let you import and export between other apps or services.

We used to cover news aggregators , but it has been a long time since we updated our list and we want to hear your suggestions .

For me, the Feedly RSS app has been my popular news aggregator for many years. Its timeline, flexible search and organization tools, and cross-platform syncing are all great, and helped me move away from Twitter for news – and pretty much everything else. Since it is an RSS reader, Feedly can even be used to track YouTube and podcast subscriptions, blogs, and even in some cases newsletters. Yes, both web and mobile have built-in dark themes.

There are of course other options besides Feedly; Some are news services like News360 or even Apple News or Google News , while others are more niche like the tech news-focused Panda app. But that’s just the tip. The Google Play and Apple App stores have a variety of news aggregation and RSS reader applications, as well as many offline websites.

So for those of you who use a news aggregator, what do you like best? Comment under this post on your picks – I’ll go over your answers, try them out, and update them with an updated list of the best news aggregators available.
