What’s in Store for and Out of Netflix in the Week of September 16, 2019
You liked it as a web series. Will you like it as a feature film? Between Two Ferns: The movie comes out on Friday, and while I’m skeptical, it looks pretty funny in the trailer. Celebrities such as David Letterman, Jon Hamm, Brie Larson, and Chrissy Teigen join Zach Galifianakis in a deadpan, fake negotiation; Will Ferrell is there, doing his reliably funny Will Ferrell thing, and apparently Matthew McConaughey is dying or nearly dying, which is an interesting plot twist?
If the indie humor Funny or Die isn’t for you, can I suggest the documentary Inside Bill’s Brain: A Transcript of Bill Gates? Maybe it’s not fun? I haven’t used a computer since the Clinton administration, and yet I desperately want to have fun with Gates’ gray matter!
