Energize for a Long Weekend With This Strong Cold Brew
Properly brewed Irish coffee is great, but also hot, making it a poor choice in the last few weeks of summer. To make a strong coffee that you can enjoy all year round, you just need cold coffee and some condensed milk.
If this sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because of its similarity to Vietnamese iced coffee, which is good and often paired with rum. I’ve been more in the whiskey mood lately, but the great thing about this cocktail format is that you can use any dark alcohol you want and it will most likely be delicious. Made with Irish whiskey, you get (obvious) undertones of Irish coffee with (subtle) hints of mature chocolate and milk. To make it you will need:
- 350 ml cold coffee or other strong cold coffee
- 2 ounces Irish whiskey (or whiskey or dark rum)
- 30 g sweetened condensed milk
Mix everything in a cocktail shaker, add ice, then shake until the shaker is too cold to hold comfortably. Get into the compartment and enjoy.
