Why You Shouldn’t Put Your Apple Card in Your Wallet (Seriously)

Some of you will likely receive your new Titanium Apple Cards this week, if you made sure to order the physical version of the card when you sign up for it on Tuesday . Here’s what’s interesting: you probably don’t want to keep an Apple credit card in your wallet.

Where to put it – it’s up to you – a shoe, maybe? – but if you have a leather wallet, throwing a titanium card inside is not the best option. And the jeans pocket? This is also no, no. These silly suggestions come straight from Apple, in addition to a few unusual processing rules you should consider when dealing with a new credit card:

  • “Certain fabrics, such as leather and denim, can cause permanent discoloration that cannot be washed off.”
  • “Place your card in the slot in your wallet or wallet without touching another credit card. If two credit cards are inserted into the same slot, your card can get scratched. “
  • “Do not put your Titanium Apple Card in a pocket or bag with change, keys, or other potentially abrasive items.”
  • “Store your titanium Apple Card in a wallet, pocket, or padded bag.”

Strange, isn’t it? I don’t remember having such Byzantine rules for something like Chase Sapphire Reserve or American Express Platinum. However, the credit cards of these companies do not have a finish that resembles Apple’s card status symbol, “a multi-layer coating added to the titanium base material.”

If the untouched surface of your Apple Card gets dirty, the company recommends wiping it down with a damp microfiber cloth. You should use water, but if you need to get out of hand, you should only intensify the cleaning procedure with isopropyl alcohol. That’s all. As Apple points out:

“Do not use window or household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol cans, thinners, ammonia, or abrasive cleaners on the titanium Apple Card.”

If you find that your card is not recyclable, you can order a replacement . It doesn’t seem like it will cost you anything, but I wouldn’t lose sight of the annoyance Apple will get if you keep asking for multiple new cards because of your silly actions, such as touching the unclean change in your pocket. … …

We look forward to seeing Apple release a dedicated all-white wallet designed to protect your card – for just $ 79, of course – or perhaps launch a dedicated credit card version of AppleCare. But seriously, the Space Gray map would certainly be a great alternative, wouldn’t it?
