How to Add Galaxy Note 10 Link to Windows App to Older Samsung Phones
Samsung’s Pair to Windows feature is very similar to Microsoft’s Your Phone app; It allows you to sync your Galaxy Note 10-series phone with your computer via the quick settings menu. Once connected, you can access your messaging, notifications, photos, and other phone features right from your Windows desktop.
The only requirement for Link to Windows is a new Galaxy Note 10 device, but this feature also works well on any Galaxy device using Samsung’s proprietary One UI, including the Galaxy S9 and S8 smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Note 8 and 9.
We’ll show you how to run this feature on your old Samsung device (if you don’t want to just install your phone), but one word of warning: don’t try to install the Samsung Link to Windows app on a non-Samsung device.
How to link to Windows
- On your Galaxy device, download the Your Phone Companion app from the Google Play store.
- Then download the Link to Windows Service app from APK Mirror. To do this, download the APK file to your phone and open it. When prompted, click to accept installation from unknown sources, then wait for the installation to complete.
- After installing Link to Windows Service, swipe down on your Galaxy phone to open quick settings.
- In the quick setup menu, click on the three dots in the upper right corner, then click Button Order.
- Click on Windows Button Link and add it to the Quick Settings panel.
- Back in the quick settings menu, click “Associate with Windows”.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to connect your phone to your computer. You will need a Microsoft account to complete this step. You also need to grant all the permissions the app asks for in order for the feature to work properly.
If everything went smoothly, you should see a highlighted PC icon in your phone’s quick settings when it’s connected to your PC. Now you can check phone notifications on your PC and use many of the basic phone functions without leaving your desktop or laptop. You didn’t get any special features that you didn’t already have from the Your Phone app, but the implementation looks better.
