If you’re working remotely and dreaming of a different location to set up your laptop, it might be time to take a step: States and cities are starting to offer monetary incentives to people who move to their neighborhoods.
Vermont, for example, has launched a program to pay people $ 5,000 to relocate to the state. To receive money, you must first work in your home office or coworking space in Vermont after moving there, and you must be an employee of a W-2 company located outside of Vermont. According to Livability, so far 33 people have received grants under the program.
Meanwhile, in Oklahoma, you can apply to participate in the Tulsa Remote program. If you are a full-time or self-employed outside of Tulsa County and can move to Tulsa within six months, you can apply for $ 10,000 cash and free coworking space in the city center. The cash is in the form of a relocation scholarship of $ 2,500, a monthly payment of $ 500, and then $ 1,500 at the end of your first year in Tulsa. Certain community events required.
