Watch HBO for Free With Its New People Recommended Tool
You no longer need an HBO subscription to watch some of HBO’s most popular programs. Today, the network launched a new People Recommended tool that will allow anyone to stream over 50 free episodes, films and documentaries – as long as they are human-recommended.
This week, the network launched a new website, humanreco.com , where you can watch video reviews from viewers or read comments about some of the network’s programs. If you read or hear something that you like, you can play a preview of that show or even watch it with a few clicks on this page.
How HBO got these recommendations is a bit unclear, but it notes that it paid members, so it’s safe to say that these are most likely HBO recommendations and not real people making comments. However, you have some pretty good options.
As far as TV recommendations go, it looks like you’re only watching the first episode. That’s great and all, but it’s also a quick way to get you excited about jumping in and out to end your HBO membership, so watch this free episode at your own risk.
Finding what you want to watch is not easy either. If you think, “I want to watch the first episode of Big Little Lies ,” you have to click around until you find someone who recommends the series for accessing the episode; you can’t just go there and start watching.
However, if you’ve been contemplating an HBO subscription to catch whatever show your friend keeps talking about, this might be a good way to test the first episode before switching to a monthly subscription.
