How to Get a Free Music Streaming Subscription From Your Mobile Operator
One of the few benefits you can get with a mobile phone subscription is free access to paid versions of Spotify, Apple Music, and other services that are usually offered alongside your carrier’s unlimited data plans. Of course, these plans are usually the most expensive plans a carrier offers, but getting a free music subscription reduces the pain.
Here’s a quick overview of what free streaming services you get from the Big Four: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint. A word of caution, though: these suggestions are subject to change, sometimes without notice. While these perks and free trials are valid as of August 2019, they may differ if you read this later.
AT&T
AT&T is giving Unlimited & More Premium subscribers (from $ 48 per line after discount) a free subscription to one of several streaming services. The plan recently added Spotify Premium as an option, although Pandora, HBO, Starz, Showtime, and VRV are also available. Other AT&T customers are also eligible for a free six-month trial of Spotify Premium, even if they’re not part of the unlimited plan. You can read more about Spotify’s special offers for AT&T customers here .
Verizon
Verizon’s Play More Unlimited, Get More Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited, and Above Unlimited plans include free unlimited music streaming to Apple Music. Other Verizon Unlimited plans — Get Started Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Move Unlimited, or Verizon Unlimited Plan — include a six-month free trial. Check out the official Verizon FAQ for more information and instructions on how to apply for a free offer.
Sprint
Sprint Unlimited Plus includes a free Tidal Premium membership. Its Unlimited Premium plan includes Tidal HiFi, which includes premium sound for select tracks. You can read more about the offer here .
T-mobile
T-Mobile’s streaming options are slightly different from those of the competition. Rather than giving you a free subscription to a specific service, T-Mobile’s Music Freedom and Binge On features allow users to stream as much content as they want without limiting their data.
However, these benefits only apply to certain applications. Music Freedom includes Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Tidal, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and a few more.
