How to Resize App Icons in IPadOS 13
One of the more frustrating things you’ll face when upgrading your iPad to Apple iPadOS 13 this fall – including having to call it that from now on – are the slightly smaller icons that now grace your iPad’s home screen and pages.
Like the juice cleanse, this iconic diet is just a temporary fad. It looks like Apple will let you go back to the more powerful icons you’ve been using all this time if you’d rather make your apps look like a delicious thick steak than a lean flatbread . At least that’s my impression based on the latest iPadOS 13 beta – version 5! – which now has a small tweak to adjust the size of app icons.
Make app icons big or small
If you’re currently using the iPadOS 13 beta, or you know the smaller icons will drive you crazy and want to change that as soon as iPadOS 13 arrives (possibly) in September, here’s how to make your icons bolder.
First, open the “Settings” app. Then you will want to click on Display & Brightness . At the bottom of this section, find the new App Icon Size option. You can’t miss this as you will see a small graph that shows how many icons will fit on the page in More and More modes:
That’s all! I haven’t reinstalled iPadOS 13 lately, but it makes sense that Apple will also ask you for this preference as part of your device’s initial setup process. If not, now you know where to find it.
