What’s the Best Outdoor Food in Your City?
Good al fresco dining isn’t just a pair of wobbly chairs on the sidewalk. You need to embellish this place a little; You must serve food that belongs outdoors. Keep your visitors some distance from traffic or you have a very good reason to display them right on a busy sidewalk. Tell us in the comments: What’s the best street food in your city?
New Yorkers can only eat for six months, but we give our best. If you want to dine in your backyard, there’s Mudspot in the East Village, Café Mogador in Williamsburg, Cafe Luluc on Boerum Hill, and a great place to chill out at Bricolage in Park Slope. There are outdoor barbecues at Gowanus’s Pig Beach, rooftop dinners at Luna at Astoria and Juliette in Williamsburg, delicious sailboat oysters at Grand Banks Center. And the food stalls on Governor’s Island are tastier than they deserve to be, especially the coconut stalls.
What’s the best restaurant backyard, public park food stand, or rooftop table? What place really decorates the outdoor area, gives you something better than cheap folding chairs, and doesn’t forget to dine outdoors for an hour at a time? Which dish is especially delicious when you eat outside? And since a little negativity is fun: which of the hottest outdoor spots isn’t as good as it sounds?
Be sure to name the place and city where it is located so that locals can find it. And this summer we’ll be doing some al fresco booze in a separate post, but if your favorite bar serves full-fledged outdoor snacks, then let us know now! We will present the best reviews in the Personnel tab below.
