Try These Dedicated Google Assistant Commands for Waze on Android
Since Google acquired Waze back in 2013, the company has gradually added Waze features to Google Maps, including traffic reporting and real-time rate limiting features .
The relationship is mutual, as Google is integrating Assistant into the Waze app for US Android users – a rollout of course, which means you might not see the feature at first. With it, you can now perform an even wider range of voice commands with Waze, and you can now access most of Waze’s features hands-free. This is a great addition to the app, especially since Waze is the best option for getting out of traffic hell when compared to Google Maps.
To use the new Google Assistant voice commands, you need to update Waze to the latest version. Go to the Google Play Store on your Android device and see if new versions of the app are waiting to be installed.
When using navigation mode in Waze, you can say something like “Ok Google, report a crash” to send a crash report. You can also use commands such as “Ok Google, Avoid Tolls” to take a scenic free route wherever you go; “Notify the Police” to help others speed up; “Report Traffic” to share your terrible commute with others; and “show me alternative routes” if you want to change your route.
You can also perform other Google Assistant commands in Waze, such as turning on music or podcast, reading and replying to text messages using speech, getting notifications, doing a Google search, and more – much more, in fact, so be sure to check out with our guides on everything you can do with the Assistant .
