Amtrak Offers BOGO Sleeper Car Tickets This Week
If you’re planning to take a train ride later this year, Amtrak is running a promotion this week that could significantly reduce the cost of travel.
From now until June 10, 2019, Amtrak is offering BOGO roomette and room tickets for its trains, provided that you and this +1 plan live in the same room during your journey. Tickets must be purchased by the 10th to get the deal, but the discount is valid for travel from August 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020, so you have a lot of choices when you travel.
What’s more, there are no blackout dates between August and March, so you can actually book a seat according to your vacation schedule.
Amtrak also offers special rates on some of its routes during the promotion. Here are sample prices for several popular routes:
Amtrak says the rooms and bedrooms are “complete with bedding, pillows, temperature controls, lighting, bedside storage areas, electrical outlets, huge double-story windows and a folding table.” A dedicated guide will book a table, make and clean the beds, help with luggage, notify customers when their stop is near, and share wonderful stories from life on the rails. “

When you board a train, you are not limited to your room. Passengers are free to roam the train during the journey and take snacks and drinks in the cabin during the journey.
To book a ticket, you and your +1 must be members of the same booking and you will need to purchase an adult ticket with full payment. Tickets must also be purchased online and not from the Amtrak store.
