How to Make a Makeshift Cake Stand
Cake is an admirable food, which is why cake stands are so important. They not only raise the dessert to the desired place at a height, but also facilitate access to it, providing a convenient entry point into the base of the cake. However, if you don’t bake many cakes, you may not have one.
This is fine because I’m sure you have a plate and bowl, which Food52 points out is all you need to create a fairly small serving area for your cake. Simply grab a sturdy bowl (or a large cup-shaped mug, or a small aesthetic colander), turn it over and place a nice plate on top. Boom, instant cake stand. For small cakes or muffins, you can even use saucers and teacups, although if the cake is so small you can probably just serve it in your hand.
