Your Teen Can Get Free Audiobooks This Summer

Children’s brains often get a little rusty in the summer – the Brookings report concludes that the average student loses a month of academic year during recess. But you parents can help slow down the summer coil. One way: get them to read.

Give your child access to all types of books, including audiobooks. AudioFile Magazine hosts SYNC , a free summer audiobook for teens 13 and older. Members can download two full audiobooks each week, which are pre-selected and based on weekly themes. This week’s titles are “The Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen” and ” Tear Down This Wall: City, President” and “ Romesh Ratnesar ‘s End of the Cold War Speech .” Here are audio clips from all the audiobooks on the list.

Register with SYNC to download audiobooks. The titles delivered via the OverDrive app are available for one week and change every Thursday.
