Send Your Name to Mars With the 2020 Rover
If you’ve ever dreamed of going to Mars, now is your chance. Well, okay, you can’t go to Mars, but your name can, and it’s closer than ever.
The Mars 2020 rover is gearing up to begin its seven-month voyage to Mars next July, and NASA says it will take your name with it:
Once it arrives, it will spend at least one Martian year (roughly 687 Earth days) collecting data and rock and soil samples for study.
To join over 2 million names (including mine!) That are already registered, go to the NASA website , enter your name, country, zip code and email address, then click “Send my name to Mars”. You can download or print your boarding pass.
If you have young children, they will probably enjoy it, and this will be a great chance to talk about space exploration and learn about the mission together.
But if you want to fly alone, that’s okay too.
