Clean Your Kitchen Instantly by Flushing Out the Trash Can
A “clean trash can” may sound oxymoronic, but having one is a very important aspect of keeping my sanity. Thought it was never right in my field of vision (unless I throw something away), the scrub treatment instantly makes my kitchen cleaner, brighter and more serene.
While most people tend to throw trash into a (lined) can, spills, splashes, and stains inevitably end up under the liner as well as on the outside of the can. It’s not the most obvious eyesore, but that dirty, slightly smelly presence is a little depressing, and brushing it almost always lifts my spirits. (These are little things.)
Simply rinse the (empty, unlined) can with a hose or in the shower if you live in an apartment, and then wipe off any excess moisture with a paper towel. Spray some kind of disinfectant solution on it, scrub it with a bin-only brush (a toilet brush will do), making sure you get out the bottom and lid, and the inside and outside. Rinse again, then let dry in the sun or in the bath. As an added reward, toss a couple of dryer sheets on the bottom under the new lining and notice how brighter and cleaner your entire kitchen feels.
