Help the Children Put the Shoes on Their Right Foot With a Sticker Trick
Do you have a child who does not understand which shoe goes on which foot? Do you have a sticker? Then try this classic parenting trick.
Cut off the center of the sticker and place half of it on each sole. Now your child just needs to piece the two pieces together like a jigsaw puzzle before sticking their feet in. You can also use a permanent marker to draw two arrows pointing at each other, an idea shared on Twitter by author Emily Oster. Or you can draw two people facing each other so that when they line up, they kiss (or give each other five or slap their fists – it’s really up to you). Until your child learns the finer points of shoes, this simple trick will make it a little easier to walk out the door.
