Contact Your College Career Development Department to Help You Find Your Next Job, Even If You Graduated Many Years Ago

Shortly before graduating from college, I went to my university’s career center to get help creating my first “real” resume and some tips on how not to burn out or burn out when interviewing for my first adult job.

It is a valuable help when you are just starting out. You may not realize that many colleges and universities also offer this kind of assistance to graduates.

Chances are, you paid your chosen school a huge amount of money at some point, so it’s in their best interest to make you feel like the investment was worth it. Fast Company recently told several schools about what types of career services graduates can get for free or for a small fee after graduation. Answer? Enough.

Your alma mater’s career services can help you create the perfect resume, and a cover letter can help you conduct a mock interview and can even help you figure out what kind of career you can benefit from if you are interested in change.

The career department at your school may also have access to “hidden” job listings that have not yet been published. For example, if a graduate of your school owns a company, he or she may share the vacancy with the school before sharing it with the masses to potentially hire another graduate.

Obviously, if you went to school far from your current location, some of these services may not quite work for you, but if you are still near where you went to school, an office, you will be a reliable resource to check. … If nothing else, it is worth calling to see what may be available to you.
