What’s in Store for and Out of Netflix in May 2019

Two Words for May, Netflixsters: Mister. Mum.

I’m only half joking. Yes, the Michael Keaton / Teri Garr classic from 1983, in which jokes come from an incredible scenario where the wife leaves for work and her husband stays at home and takes care of the children (what are you talking about, everyone knows that women don’t ) I don’t have a job, men can’t vacuum , etc.) Appears on Netflix on May 3. But Mom’s arrival perhaps symbolizes the moment we reached the peak of Netflix Original ™, when Netflix told us, “Do you know what you want? You want the third season of the bizarre anthology series Easy (May 10), you want Still LAUGH-IN: The Stars Celebrate , a stellar tribute to the “revolutionary” sketch comedy show of the 1960s and 1970s. ” And we answered: “New phone, who is this?”

Licensed films that hit Flix in May include Angels and Demons , Austin Powers 1 & 2 , Dumb and Dumber, Harold and Kumar’s Escape from Guantanamo Bay, Hoosiers and the movie you really want to watch is Moonlight .

We’re losing all the Jaws , Eternal Lights, Sixteen Candles, Sliding Doors and a bunch of James Bond movies.

Every week on Mondays, we iterate over “NO” (what I’ll call Netflix Originals hereafter for obvious reasons) and let you know which ones seem to be worth your time. My Money at Wine Country ( May 10 ) starring Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer and Maya Rudolph, directed by Poehler.

Let us know in the comments what you are looking forward to this month and what you will avoid.
