Slice Chicken Thighs on Top of Each Other for a Lazy Browning
Chicken thighs have many benefits, especially when it comes to meat-to-skin ratio. But their rounded, mound-like shape means that darkening the skin on all sides requires some manipulation and maneuver.
Holding a piece of chicken on its side with tongs is not physically exhausting, but when I have a choice between doing something or not doing something, I always choose to do nothing. To fry your thighs in a lazy way, simply close the gap between your thighs and let them lean against each other for support. The photo above shows the method quite clearly: use one (flat) thigh to support the other thigh when on its side, then alternate as needed. This maximizes your crunchy real estate while minimizing the number of things you have to do with your hands – two of my top goals in life.
