How Teens Can Get Free Gym Memberships This Summer
Good news if you have a bored teenager at home this summer: Planet Fitness offers the Summer Challenge, which is basically a free summer gym pass for teens between the ages of 15 and 18.
Free workouts are available from May 15th to September 1st, and teens can only practice where they signed up. The only way to register is to select a Planet Fitness venue and walk with a parent or guardian to register. (18-year-olds can register on their own.) Then, according to the Planet Fitness fact sheet , teens can exercise “free all summer, as long as they want!”
While this may sound a little intimidating to regular Planet Fitness customers, the gym already allows kids to become members from the age of 13. Summer is also a leisurely time for many gyms, maybe things won’t be so bad? But the real winners here are parents who want a few hours of peace and a stronger, healthier child.
While a number of news outlets are reporting this issue, Planet Fitness has not officially launched or announced the program. In replies on their Instagram, they mentioned that the full details will be available in mid-May.
