When You Buy Edible Products, Buy the Cannabis-Free Version As Well
We have entered a new era of edible products. Even if you don’t live in a fully legalized state with a fancy pharmacy, there are enough recipes and resources to ensure that the products you make and / or eat resemble food rather than marijuana. This is good because it is more pleasant to eat tasty, but bad because it is much easier to eat too much.
If you’ve ever eaten too much marijuana , you know it’s not enjoyable. Unlike smoking, the edible effects appear after a while, but then they are stronger. This is why you should only eat a little and wait at least an hour before ingesting (or smoking) any other marijuana product. Therefore, food that is especially tasty is a dangerous thing, especially if you are addicted to snacks or strangely confident in your tolerance. This is why you should always – always – have a cannabis-free bite of edible ready at hand.
For example, if you are chewing gum, buy a few sachets of your favorite haribo. (Yes, a few; the worst that can happen is leftover gummy bears.) If you are swallowing chocolate, buy some fancy chocolate bars. Heck, I’ve even seen Cheez-Its filled with weed, and I hate to imagine a scenario where one is tall and the only Cheez-Its available are cannabis-doped.
So even if you are unfamiliar with snacks and are confident in your restraint, cheat yourself. Even if you don’t eat it, it will save you from obsessing over forbidden snacks, which is great, because obsessive thoughts during the high are not fun. (But let’s be honest: you’re probably going to eat it.)
