How to Set Your Google Calendar to Start on Monday

If it weren’t for my Google Calendar, I’d probably have missed every important appointment, deadline, and birthday – and I’m definitely not alone.

One thing I hate about it is that the default view is Sunday-Saturday, which can make it a little tricky to read, so I changed that view to Monday-Sunday.

Google has a number of built-in features to change the look of your calendar, but my favorite is the Start Week.

To navigate to it, click the gear icon in the upper right corner of your calendar, and then click View Options on the left side of the page. From there, you can customize not only what day your calendar starts on, but also whether or not it even displays weekends.

This section also allows you to decide if declined events are displayed in your calendar and if you want events that have already occurred to be dimmed.

And when you browse that calendar, Google calendar shortcuts might come in handy. Press “d” with the calendar open to quickly jump to today, “w” to view your week, and “m” to quickly see the month.

This is one of those features that has always been around, but most people might not realize that this is an option, and it’s fantastic.
