Easily Compare Products on Google by Searching by Number and “Cons”.
I have several sites where I can find information about the products I want to buy, such as Wirecutter, Strategist, and Amazon comments (although you have to be careful here ).
This is usually an adequate choice, but if you’re looking for a wider variety of reviews, an easy way to find them is to type the name of the product you’re interested in into Google and then put “vs.” You will then be presented with other popular alternatives, as well as links to review sites you may not have heard of, as Recommendo wrote .
For example, one product I want to buy is an electric toothbrush, but I can never pull the trigger because I don’t know what it’s really worth. I decided to type “Quip vs.” on Google to see what’s next. (For reference, I’m not interested in buying Quip, but the name is easy enough to remember.)
The first result is “Quip vs Sonicare & Oral-B” by ElectricTeeth.com , a website that appears to exist. This is followed by reviews and comparisons from Best Electric Toothbrush Club, The Wirecutter, Ask the Dentist, Allure, Reviewed.com, Popular Mechanics, and more. Wealth embarrassment!
Then I searched for “iPhone XR vs.” Again, I’ve come across many benchmarking reviews: “Know the Differences Between iPhone XS and iPhone XR” by Cult of Mac , “iPhone XR vs. iPhone XS: Which Should You Buy?” author: 9to5Ma c and so on.
This tiny trick is not groundbreaking, but it is a useful shorthand. And now I’m pretty sure I’ll pick Sonicare.
