How to Enable Developer Options on Your New Galaxy S10
Samsung’s all-new Galaxy S10 arrived on Friday, and I have no doubt that many shoppers spent the entire weekend on their first day fiddling with a smartphone that our colleagues at Gizmodo describe as “as close as possible to getting all that money back.” …
One of the options that may have eluded you – in fact, the preset is the Galaxy S10 developer options. Most people probably don’t need to fiddle with them as they won’t understand a lot (and don’t need to be tweaked). However, if you want to spoof your device’s GPS, keep your device’s screen awake at all times (even when charging), or speed up your device’s animation, you need to unlock the developer options magic.
Fortunately, this is very easy to do.
First, open the Settings app on your Galaxy S10. Scroll down to the very bottom of the app until you see the About Phone section and tap on it. In the About Phone section, find the Software Information section and tap it.
Now, you’ll want to scroll down until you see the Build Number, which should be about halfway down the Software Information screen. Can’t miss it.
As strange as it sounds, you now need to press Build Number seven times. Basically, keep pressing until you’re prompted for your device’s PIN, password, or gesture – whatever you’d use to unlock it, not your fingerprint or your face.
Go back to your main Settings screen and you will now see a new Developer Options list under the About Phone heading. Tap it and resist the urge to completely break your device by changing settings that most people will never see. I’m a kid! You will be fine.
