Don’t Check Your Phone Before Breakfast

What we do in the morning can lift our spirits for the rest of the day, which is why many of our wake-up tips boil down to doing what you really need to do and what you want to do. This means it’s time to confront this little box that constantly prevents you from saying what to think. Your phone number.

If you’re used to putting your phone in your pajama pocket in the morning, consider not doing it. Snooze or turn off the alarm (if the alarm is on your phone), but then put it down. If it really helps your morning accomplish a particular task on your phone, like putting together the perfect morning playlist , do just that, then turn your phone off again.

Or skip breakfast, if that’s what you prefer . But think about what you want to do before you get sucked into the phone. Brush your teeth, get dressed and maybe make some coffee. Bake an egg in a toaster . If you get bored, you can read a book. Look out the window. Let your brain find its own lazy morning thoughts instead of reading them from the screen.
