Remove All Ads and Sponsored Products From Amazon With This Extension

When shopping on Amazon, it’s easy to get distracted by all the ads and offers the site has to offer. In fact, you can get so distracted that you end up forgetting that you even went to the site to shop at all.

For example, if I go to Amazon’s homepage right now, the site prompts me to buy a Fire TV Stick (only $ 39.99!) And tosses a travel power adapter in my face, which I looked at yesterday but didn’t buy. The further I scroll down the page, the more options Amazon has to buy.

Amazon Lite is a Chrome extension that removes all ads, sponsored products, and clutter from the site, allowing you to quickly get to what you actually came to the site to buy.

With the extension active, the home page looks like a Google search bar. Type in what you’re looking for and you’ll be taken to a search results page similar to the one you might see without the extension, except now without all the ads and sponsored products in the mix. It’s the same with real product pages.

The site, especially its home page, looks pretty bare without it all. Here’s what looking for a USB-C cable looks like with an included extension cable:

And here’s what it looks like without it:

You have to go through three sponsored listings and a huge ‘Best of Our Brands’ carousel before you even land on the regular listings with the regular site. Not ideal.

You can configure the extension to be permanent by default, or configure it to load the optimized site only when you click on the extension icon. I chose the second option simply because sometimes I really enjoy seeing Amazon offers.

However, an extension can take care of much more than a traditional ad blocker and can make shopping on Amazon a lot less cluttered.
