Test Your New IPad Pro 2018 for a Right Bend When You Buy It
Whether you received it as a gift or gifted it to yourself, there is a little extra prep work you need to do if you just got your hands on the new 2018 iPad Pro . After a series of reports and rumors, Apple admitted that a certain percentage of new iPad Pros come with a slight structural bend in the case. Nobody wants to spend $ 800+ on a fancy new tablet and get it curved, so be sure to check it out on purchase and if you see a curve, ship it back within Apple’s 14-day return period.
It’s important to do it right away. While confirming the bend of The Verge , Apple said the bend is slight and does not affect the tablet’s functionality, so the company does not consider it a defect. So if you try to return your bent iPad Pro after the return policy expires, they may refuse to take it back. According to the report, Apple Stores says bend repairs fall under Applecare +, but uninsured will have to pay to fix it.
The flexing occurs during production, Apple said, and it was found in both iPad Pro sizes. Verge’s Chris Welch noted that this may be more common on the LTE-enabled iPad Pro, although this has not been confirmed.
So don’t worry if you find that your iPad Pro has a bend. Just put it back in the box and bring it back … ASAP.
