Let Your Friends Know That You Are Being Followed With Apple’s Shortcuts Feature
Going home, to a bar or restaurant alone can sometimes be scary, especially if you are a woman. One Reddit user has come up with an interesting way to use Apple’s Shortcuts feature : letting your friends know you think you are being followed.
The idea behind me is that you create a shortcut that takes ten quick photos, saves them to your device, and then sends them to the recipient along with your location.
Clearly this won’t stop someone from following you to your destination, but at least it could trigger a flash so someone knows you might be in trouble and knows how to find you if you do run into with problems.
Another Reddit user modified the original proposal so that your phone takes five photos instead of ten so that it can be retrieved sooner. He also suggested sending photos via email rather than text, because the labels require you to click send in a text message, but not an email.
Its variation also offers directions to the nearest police station, which may or may not be helpful depending on where you are – I personally recommend doing whatever you find first and waiting for the nefarious person to come. to you, and / or call your friend and have them meet you and talk to you along the way, wherever you go.
