Challenge Friends With Galaxy Phones in Samsung Health Fitness Challenges

One of the things that kept me from owning FitBit is competition. Every week my three friends and I participate in the “Workweek Challenge”, in which for some reason we still find time to say a word even after a few years. I love good races, and FitBit races have been the inspiration for many extra walks or Friday runs over the years.

The friendly competition definitely made me a little more active, and I missed that every time the FitBit strap broke or I lost the tracker – at some point I’ll go buy a new one almost immediately.

If your friends don’t have FitBits, but they have Samsung phones (or you are my dad), you can also start the test in the Samsung Health app.

This feature offers a lot of what you get from Fitbit, but in an app on your phone, without the need to connect an external fitness tracker. You can challenge other friends with Samsung devices in a friendly competition, or use the app to track your steps yourself and see how you approach other people.

To set up, launch the Samsung Health app on your phone and then click the Together button at the bottom of the page (if you’ve never used the app before, you’ll need to agree on a few things first).

After that, click the “Friends” button to add your friend. To do this, you need to know the email address that your friend associated with the app. If they happen to be near you, you can also scan the QR code on their device, which is on the same page.

Once your friend agrees, you can create custom challenges for you, where you can see each other’s steps and chat as you fight to be the first to reach your goal.
