Buy Your Child Indestructible Books

I confess I was a little skeptical when one of the parents in our Offspring Facebook group suggested that I buy an “indestructible” book for my 9-month-old nephew for Christmas.

Chelsea told me they were “made of special paper that can’t be torn or torn, but flip like ordinary pages,” which sounded too good to be true. My nephew already strikes me as a wonderful combination of curious, determined, energetic and strong, so I could not imagine that there is paper strong enough to withstand his efforts. But when the other parent wholeheartedly agreed, I thought it was worth it for just under $ 6.

I almost laughed as I pulled him out of the thin envelope he arrived in. There was no chance that something so fragile (the pages did feel like paper about the same thickness as thick paper) couldn’t compare to my nephew. I carefully tried to tear the page. Then I tried a little harder. My husband tried it, my son tried it. (I was thinking about letting the dog try because my dog can chew ANYTHING, but I didn’t think it was a good way to give a gift.)

Indestructible items are considered chew-resistant, tear-resistant, non-toxic and 100% washable, “built like babies read it with hands and mouth.” If you’re not sure, they even have a video of babies wrestling with these things .

They also have cute, colorful illustrations:

Thank you Chelsea. You were right. These books are as indestructible as they appeared.
