Do You Run Without Music?
The beauty of working without headphones is that you are finally alone with your thoughts. This is also the horror of running without headphones: what if you don’t want to be alone with your thoughts?
Running without music may not be as bad as it sounds. Consider this your only chance to switch off during the day if you’re always glued to a screen or some kind of digital input the rest of the time.
On the other hand, if you enjoy the sounds of nature or city life every time you go for a run, maybe some incendiary music can help you?
I need music when I’m on the treadmill or running at intervals; jogging hard hurts, psychologically rather than physically, and music helps me stay toned when I would otherwise try to talk myself into quitting. On the other hand, if I’m running lightly in a place with beautiful scenery, it’s nice to soak up that without being distracted by my phone.
