It Is No Longer Possible to “accidentally” Spend Too Much Time on Facebook
Now you have no excuse for spending too much time on Facebook.
A week after rolling out the Your Activity Restriction feature on Instagram this week, Facebook began rolling out Your Facebook Time feature on the social network. Like the Instagram version, its main purpose is to help you keep track of how much time you spend on the app each day and set realistic limits for yourself so that you don’t spend too much time reading your friend’s political rants and searching photos for one. what they ate for lunch.
You can find this feature by launching the app on your mobile device and then clicking the hamburger icon (three lines above each other) in the upper right corner of the page. From there, scroll down to Settings & Privacy and then select Your Time on Facebook from the drop-down list.
Like the Instagram version, this feature will tell you how much time you’ve historically spent using the app and suggest ways to customize notifications so you can limit the number of times you return to the app during the day. You can also set a daily time limit for yourself from 5 minutes to 23 hours 55 minutes within this function. When you reach your daily limit, you will receive a push notification (so stop using it!), But you will not be blocked from the app.
You can also use the Screen Time feature of an iOS device or the Digital Wellbeing feature of an Android device to see how your Facebook uses tracks in comparison to the rest of your life on your smartphone.
And if you’re looking for this today and can’t find it, keep in mind that this is more of a deployment than a launch. Make sure you have the latest version of the app on your phone and then sit back, it will most likely appear in the next few days.
