Eat and drink
- “Make sure you go to“ kilogram ”restaurants that sell food by weight. Great deal. Be sure to try the tapioca restaurants! They take tapioca starch and make this white taco thing and fill it with splendor. ” – AlexK
- “Sao Paulo is famous for its many immigrants from different countries, and they all bring food and snacks with them. You will find fantastic restaurants serving Italian, Japanese, German and Portuguese cuisine just about everywhere. But don’t forget about our very own Brazilian cuisine! You can find restaurants that specialize in certain regions of Brazil, such as Nordestino, Mineiro or Gaucho. Not to mention our world famous churascarias with as many meat as you want “, – Enrique Miraldo
- “If you want to taste authentic Brazilian food, head to the Paulistano Municipal Market (Municipal Market). Cheeses, meats, local fruits, sweets that you didn’t even know about until you try it. ”- Lucas Pinheiro Silva
- “Eat the pastels! Seriously, this is the salty cousin of the donut and he’s amazing. There are several fairies (very similar to farmers’ markets) throughout the city, and each has a pastel shaded hut. Give preference to themes over pastels in the store. ”- Thiago.
- “Pineiros is our Brooklyn. Many excellent restaurants and bars have opened in the area over the past few years, mainly around Baixo Pineiros (lower Pineiros) and R. dos Pineiros street. You can spend a whole month eating in great places, and you never have to repeat the same thing. ” – Piochi
Do, watch and go around
- “Probably the strangest things I love are Ugra (a comic book store for the general public) and Galeria do Rock (a three-story mall for records and memorabilia).” – Gui Saba
- “If you are interested in our black, indigenous and colonial history, then there are many unknown and semi-abandoned places worth visiting (Sítio Morrinhos, Casa Sertanista, etc.), but probably the best of them are Museu Xingú (Xingu Museum) and Museu Afro Brasil. “- paulistano123
- “Be attentive to your surroundings, especially in the city center. Sao Paulo is more of a commercial destination than a tourist destination, so you don’t have to worry about the usual tourist traps, but it’s a big city and we’ve got our fair share of looting. “- Enrique Miraldo
- “ The cathedral is very beautiful. Near the cathedral is the Japanese city of Liberdade. Head out on Sunday for the full experience. Sao Paulo is home to the world’s largest Japanese community outside of Japan. Sushi is available and delicious everywhere in town. ”- Lynx
- “The Museum of Modern Art (MAC) is great. The building [designed] by Oscar Niemeyer has seven floors of great works of art from around the world, some of which are very unique, plus a terrace with wonderful panoramic views of the Ibirapuera area and two restaurants. Free entrance and parking. I love to walk in the morning. After lunch I cross the avenue to Ibirapuera Park for a short walk and visit the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), which costs R $ 7 (less than US $ 2). ”- Dri Polacco.
- “Everyone will say [the mecca of street art] Beco do Batman, and it’s true. Other places I like are Ibirapuera Park and the São Paulo Art Museum (MASP). Paulista Avenue is a great place to walk. ” – Werner
- “Many streets are closed on Sunday to make room for bicycles. This is great and you should definitely do it. (There is a cycle you can use for the rest of the week, but that doesn’t always make sense and can be fragmented.) There are many self-service rental options (the most common are Yellow, Bikxie, and Bike Sampa). You need a smartphone app to unlock the bikes. ”- Lynx
