Should I Order a New HelloFresh Thanksgiving Box?
We are just approaching October, so now is a good time to worry about Thanksgiving. (If you’re Canadian, I know this will happen much sooner, and I’m sorry I can’t help you.) Taking full advantage of everyone’s concerns about Turkey Day, HelloFresh launched its first Thanksgiving box.
I’m sure this will sound blasphemous to more seasoned home cooks, but if you’re spending your first Thanksgiving, or are still emotionally recovering from the last time you hosted, this box might be a pretty good option. (At the very least, it saves you a painful trip to the grocery store.) Before we get into logistics and pricing, let’s take a look at the menu. There are two boxes, one of which contains everything you need for all this:
- Roasted turkey with garlic oil, herbs and gravy
- Cranberry sauce with orange, ginger and cinnamon
- Classic sauce with garlic and herbs
- Mashed potatoes with garlic and crispy sage
- Filling for cranberry and chicken sausages with celery, thyme and sage
- Green beans with caramelized shallots, crispy breadcrumbs and almond filling
- Apple Ginger Pecan Chip with Cinnamon
There’s also a Parties and Desserts box that has everything except the turkey. A full turkey box starts at $ 14.99 per serving and serves 8-10 people (i.e. around $ 150), while a Sides & Dessert box will set you back $ 8.90 per person. You can order the box from Oct 9 to Nov 8, or until they run out of turkeys. The box is available for delivery November 13-18, which is enough time for the turkey to thaw.
Update 10/04/2018 17:25 ET: This post originally contained a link to the HelloFresh website, but was removed as the landing page was not ready to launch. It will start working on October 9th.
