How to Get Your Google Pixel Repaired With Google’s New Repair Center
Google is on the cusp of launching the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL (we’re guessing), and more Pixel smartphones in the wild means more devices to fall, fall, submerge in liquid andwhat else .
To help with repairs, Google has finally created an official Pixel device repair service. Dubbed ” Repair Center,” Google’s service covers both warranty and post-warranty damages, and its website even offers a handy list of quick fixes and troubleshooting solutions for smaller issues.
After you’ve detailed the damage to your device – a process we’ll go over a bit – Google will provide you with an estimated cost for your repair, along with instructions on how to ship your damaged phone. Prices can range from free repairs for accidental damage or issues covered by your warranty to a few hundred dollars (or more) for major issues such as water damage. On the other hand, Google covers all shipping and packaging costs. In terms of repair time, you should be able to get your device back within seven to twelve business days, depending on how you sent it and how much Google work needs to be done to bring your device back to life.
How to use the Google Service Center
Open the Google Repair Center page and click the big blue Start Repair Order button. You can also scroll down the page to find a list of solutions for common Pixel phone problems, such as unresponsive screens or slow charging. Check them first and you might not even have to send your device in for a fix.
Find and enter your Serial Number or IMEI
After clicking a button to initiate a repair order, on the next screen you will need to enter your phone’s IMEI or serial number. You can find this in your phone’s system settings . Open the settings menu on the app screen, then go to System> About phone and scroll down to your MEID. Clicking on the MEID number will display a few more digits, including your IMEI.
If you are unable to access your phone’s settings to find your IMEI due to screen damage or other technical issues, you can also find its serial number either on its original box or by opening the SIM card tray. Insert a small pin into the hole on the side of your Pixel phone and press gently until the tray is free. The serial number is located on the tray (you may have to remove the SIM card to see it).
What is your damage, smartphone?
Once you have entered your device’s serial / IMEI number, you will see a page that will allow you to confirm that the device Google discovered is indeed your phone. After you double check, you will be prompted to identify the specific problem you are experiencing with your device. If you’re unsure, there are links at the top and bottom of the list that offer a more detailed explanation, but you should probably know what you did. Uh. What your phone did. By itself.
Choice of delivery and payment
Once you have selected all of the potential issues, click Next and you will be taken to a coverage page that will tell you if your phone and specific damages are covered by Google’s Preferred Care. In this case, you can immediately apply for a free repair. Otherwise, you will be able to pay for the repair.
When you’re ready to ship your device to Google, you can package it in its own box, ask Google to send you a prepaid box (which will arrive within 1-2 business days), or visit your local Google repair partner center. for personal service.
Before you enter into a service deal, you will be able to review the terms of the Repair Center service agreement, as well as the cost estimate for resurrecting your dead or dying device.
