How to Fix IPhone XS Charging Problems
Problems with iPhone XS and XS Max continues: in addition to problems with the connection to the cellular network and-Fi access Wi , some users have reported problems with charging their devices – mostly when their iPhone screens are turned off.
When they try to connect their devices to give them some power, some users report that they need to wake up the screen first in order to start charging. Others say their devices should be unlocked or the screen should light up the first time a Lightning cable is connected.
Users on online forums such as Reddit and Macrumors have pondered the reason and have come up with a number of solutions, including enabling USB accessories in locked mode (found under Settings> Face ID & Password ) and using the official Lightning cable from Apple instead of third-party cables.
However, the results of these proposals are mixed. It looks like updating to the iOS 12.1 public beta is the best way to fix the charging issue, but then you’re running potentially more flawed software. You can also fix the problem by purchasing a wireless charging pad for your iPhone, but then you’ll pay extra to fix, in the worst case, a temporary software bug.
